About Bill Hugg & Allswim.com

How did Bill Hugg, a guy who’s the first to admit that he’s “not great in the pool,” end up as an internationally known supplier to Olympic athletes, and the every-day swimmer? While you might find Bill Hugg in a water aerobics class at the local fitness center, his early experience in the water wouldn’t make you think that someday he’d have a vast knowledge of swimwear, swim caps, goggles and swim accessories. In fact, Bill’s even created his own line of anti-chlorine products, Chlor-Off, pioneered the use of “Brain Caps” biology teaching aids, and supplies a wide line of “vintage flower caps” to weddings, Vegas shows, and yeah, even swimmers!

As he tells it, Bill’s first experience in the water was at the Jersey Shore. His dad pitched him in the surf and shouted “swim!” We’re glad that he got his breath before he went under!

But Bill, always involved in sports since a young age and through college (lettering at Northeastern University) dreamed about having his own business, like his father. So in 1976 he used his pharmacy degree to open a small, family run store in Levittown, PA. He loved the work, but the business quickly changed as supermarkets and “mega-drug-stores” began to dominate the field. It was clear that he needed to adapt to the times.

That’s when she walked in: a regular drug store customer and coach of a local synchronized swimming club.

She had a problem. She couldn’t get the right nose clip for her team: the Laxto Nose Clip (which AllSwim still carries). Bill, always wanting to help his customers, made the connection and got her the nose clips. A new business was born.

From there, through catalogs and now the Internet, William B. Hugg Enterprises, Inc., known as AllSwim.com has served thousands of swimmers throughout the world – individuals and teams, kids to the “mature” swimmer – always with personal service. And Bill Hugg, that kid flailing in the waves, grew up to be one of the most respected providers of swim goods in the business.
